2016 Weddings

My absolute favorite part of cake decorating is the wedding part! I LOVE weddings. Small, big, it's all amazing to me :)
2016 was a crazy summer for me, I had a baby, my sister had a baby, and we had a death in the family. I didn't get to do as many weddings this past summer as usual, but the few that I did do are now some of my new favorites! I can not wait to see what the 2017 wedding season has in store for me.

Summer 2014 Weddings

I don't think I can say this enough, I LOVE weddings. Wedding season is my absolute favorite season for cakes! Here are some of the summer wedding cakes so far.

Elegant Wedding

Loved this all buttercream, simply yet elegant cake!

Orange and Gray Wedding

We had a wonderful weekend out of town at our friends' wedding. This wedding turned out amazing. I usually don't stay for the weddings, so to see one of my creations cut into by the bride and groom was fantastic! The bride even surprised him with a small groom's cake. It was truly a special event.

Vintage Wedding Ruffles

This is my new favorite. I just LOVE this cake. So elegant, yet so simple.

Black and Red Wedding

The lighting wasn't so great at this location, so this was the only picture I could get of this classic wedding. It was the first wedding of 2013 for me and I just LOVED what the Bride picked :)

Rainbow Roses Wedding

When this bride first came to me I was a little worried about how this one would turn out. All she said was "all colors, like the rainbow, plus pink". We finally sat down after emailing back and forth for months...and what we came up with was amazing! This is one of my favorite wedding cakes.

Gold and Lace Wedding

This bride loves all things gold! All the liners for her cupcakes were gold or lace, with golden or 'vintage'-y styled decor on top. The cake for the bride and groom is classic buttercream with roses I made as the topper. This was one of my favorite set ups so far. I love how the cupcakes, cake, and stands all flowed so well together. Even my little tags for all the flavors fit the decor perfectly!

Damask Wedding

I love a good challenge...and this one was certainly a challenge! But the end result was worth any bit of panick I may have had! I have to say, if I were making cake when I got married, THIS would have been my cake!

Buttercream Wedding

This was my first request for an all buttercream wedding cake. I have to say, this one was a bit of a challege at first...but then I figured it out and I just love this technique. And the look of it is so elegant.

Topsy Turvy Wedding

I was sooooo excited to do this cake! My first topsy turvy wedding cake! So out of the norm, and I love that. It was a bit scary transporting this one 2 1/2 hours away though!

Cupcake Wedding

Classy Redneck was the theme of this wedding! The bride loved pink and the groom loved camo! It turned out beautiful. I especially loved the tree trunk cupcake stand that the groom made. It really brought it all together.

April Wedding

First wedding cake of the season! Black, red and white are always great colors to work with for a wedding :)
